An Egg White Protein Powder That Actually Tastes Good

** I received a sample of this product from the manufacturer for the purposes of this review. I was not paid for this review and my opinions are honest based on my experience with the product.

Now that we have that out of the way, let’s get into the Blonyx Egg White Protein Review.

What is Blonyx Egg White Protein?

Blonyx has manufactured an egg white protein powder boasting 20g of quality protein using the following process:

  • They extract egg whites from the eggs, then they are filtered.
  • They spray the egg whites to create a mist, which when dried becomes a powder.
  • Extract from sunflower seeds which is called lecithin is added. This allows the powder to mix with water.
  • It is then blended with cocoa powder, organic cane sugar and a natural chocolate flavoring along with salt for taste.
  • The last step is to add gum extract from the guar bean to thicken the shake.

The Result?

This process results in a shake that mixes pretty well in a shaker cup and taste similar to chocolate milk. I would actually compare it more to a chocolate almond milk flavor. Tasting slightly watered down. The flavor is still good however.

According to Blonyx, the reason for the carbs is to target active people who would benefits from some pre-workout carbs along with protein to fuel their workouts.

11g of sugar may seem like a lot but in comparison, it is roughly the same or slightly less than a cup of skim milk.

Carbs are important for those who are active as it helps fuel your workout and aids in recovery as well.

Cost

Currently, Blonyx Egg White Protein is sold in one size, a 740g package.

This package will give you 20 servings and the current cost is $55.

While this may seem expensive in comparison to standard whey protein, you are getting quality protein that comes straight from eggs with minimal processing.

So if you’re seeking a more natural and less processed product, Blonyx Egg White Protein may be just for you.

My Experience

As I stated at the beginning of this review, I was sent a free sample from the company for the purposes of this review.

I received a single package which I mixed according to their recommendations. 8oz of cold water from my reverse osmosis filter system.

Taste

The flavor of the powder is chocolate and it was as described. Blonyx says that it tastes like chocolate milk and it does, slightly watered down.

Possibly mixing with less water may aid in the flavor. If I had another sample I would have tried 6oz of water and maybe almond milk as well.

Mixability

The powder mixes well, I didn’t find any chunks left over and it didn’t taste grainy at all.

Final Thoughts

Being someone who has been trying to find protein, bars etc. that are minimally processed, I feel like Blonyx Egg White Protein is a good match for me personally.

This is based on the ingredients and taste of the product. I would like to try it out in some smoothies, oats and cereal as I use other protein powders for.

In terms of cost, I believe there is some room for improvement there. Many will be turned off by the price tag of $55 for 20 servings. This works out to $2.75 per serving which is a bit high for my budget.

When compared with other Egg White Protein powders such as the one from TrueNutrition, you can get more protein per serving and more servings for far less, around $1.25 per serving and 24g of protein.

About

Hi, I’m Adam!

I started my fitness journey in 2015 and haven’t looked back. I was about 30 pounds overweight, fat, lazy and not motivated. Via a series of unfortunate life events and feeling like I was lacking structure in my life, I decided to join my local gym. I dove head first into researching workouts, what worked and what didn’t along with supplements and anything else fitness related. I’ve never felt better!

Along my journey I also found out that I have low testosterone, that of an 80 year old man.

With all of the fitness and and TRT research I’ve done, I figured it would be a great idea to start a blog and share that knowledge. Don’t hesistate to leave feedback or reach out with any question you may have via my Contact Me page.
