This MyProtein review is for their Impact Whey Protein product which I have bought myself two times now. First and foremost I want to say that it’s a great product from a great company. I genuinely have enjoyed my experience with their product and with the company. Impact Whey Protein ordered within the United States is made right here in the USA. Not too far from me in my home state of Kentucky! Another plus for me is fast shipping since it comes from so close.

For my Impact Whey Protein review, it will be based on the vanilla flavor which I purchased on 1/30/2019 in the 11lb bag. I’ve had this product for a bit and I’ve been using it pretty much daily. Generally, I use about 1 or 2 scoops in my protein shakes as a mid day snack. In this review, we will discuss the ingredients, lab test, taste and the mixability of it.

Impact Whey Protein comes in various container sizes including .55lb, 2.2lb, 5.5 lb and 11lb. This protein also comes in a lot of different flavors, over 25 different flavors actually. I’ve only tried the vanilla flavor so far though. Based on the reviews on their site it seems that Chocolate Mint and Cinnamon Roll are also good choices.

Impact Whey Protein Taste

impact whey protein review tasteWith 4 out of 5 stars on their own site and on their Amazon product page for Impact Whey Protein reviews, who car argue? You can’t make everybody happy and some people just don’t know how much water to add. I would give it a 4 out of 5 on taste as well. While it’s not the most mind-blowing protein I’ve ever had, it’s definitely up there for sure. The vanilla flavor was the one I went with and it tastes great by itself. I’ve also tried mixing it in with fruits, peanut butter and yogurt as more of a smoothie and that was pretty much amazing. Lastly, I mixed it in with oatmeal and again, excellent taste.

Impact Whey Protein Mixability

myprotein review mixing impact wheyI have most often mixed this whey protein with 6-8oz of water but I’ve also used almond milk as well. No matter what I’ve used it’s always mixed well for me in a typical blender bottle style shaker. I had also mixed it using a spoon into my oatmeal and that turned out well. I haven’t had any issues with clumping or with it having a powdery consistency. Mixing of MyProtein Impact Whey is easy on my scale.

Impact Whey Ingredients

It used to be that protein was just protein but now whey protein products sometimes have added ingredients. Here is what you will find in MyProtein Impact Whey…

  • Protein Concentrate (Whey Protein Concentrate, Soy Lecithin), Natural & Artificial Flavoring (Natural & Artificial Flavors, Maltodextrin, Gum Arabic, Sucralose, Ace K)
  • 18g of Protein Per Serving
  • 3g of Carbs
  • 1g of Fat
  • 100 Calories
  • 4.5g of BCAAs
  • 3.6g of Glutamine

The one ingredient that may need more attention is the addition of Ace K, which is also known as Acesulfame potassium. There are some concerns about its safety in terms of cancer. I would suggest that you do your own research on this one as the jury is still out on its safety even though the FDA has approved its use. You will also find Ace K in Splenda and soft drinks.

Impact Whey Lab Tests

MyProtein Impact Whey Protein is also Labdoor certified! It has been tested for label claims, meaning that Impact Whey Protein includes the amount of protein that is stated per serving. Also, it has been tested for minerals, chemicals and other bad stuff like arsenic, salmonella, lead etc. All tests were passed and this protein was certified by Labdoor. That’s a great qualification to have.

In addition to this MyProtein also uses GMP certified facilities which are another important factor when it comes to supplements.

July 2019 Update

I purchased another 11lb bag of MyProtein Impact Whey, this time I went with the Snickerdoodle flavor. This flavor is amazing by itself, mixes good, tastes great. I also have been using the snickerdoodle flavor in oatmeal and with my Kashi GoLean original flavor cereal as well. This flavor pairs well with oatmeal and the cereal to up the protein content.

Protein Oatmeal

  • 1/2 Old Fashioned Oats
  • 1 Scoop of Snickerdoodle MyProtein Impact Whey
  • Additional Cinnamon *Optional*

Protein Cereal

  • 1 Serving of Kashi GoLean Original Cereal (58 grams)
  • 1 Scoop of Snickerdoodle MyProtein Impact Whey
  • 70 grams of Blueberries
  • Almond Milk

MyProtein Impact Whey Protein Review Wrap Up

All in all, Impact Whey protein from MyProtein is a solid choice. It has been lab tested, taste great and mixes well. It may not have the highest protein amount in it, as many others have 24-25g per serving. However, when you look at the calorie count along with the number of carbs and fat it’s still a good choice. It works for me and my goals, I’m satisfied with the price and all other factors.

About

Hi, I’m Adam!

I started my fitness journey in 2015 and haven’t looked back. I was about 30 pounds overweight, fat, lazy and not motivated. Via a series of unfortunate life events and feeling like I was lacking structure in my life, I decided to join my local gym. I dove head first into researching workouts, what worked and what didn’t along with supplements and anything else fitness related. I’ve never felt better!

Along my journey I also found out that I have low testosterone, that of an 80 year old man.

With all of the fitness and and TRT research I’ve done, I figured it would be a great idea to start a blog and share that knowledge. Don’t hesistate to leave feedback or reach out with any question you may have via my Contact Me page.
